Dick Smith is a great example of a custom branded, Magento website. Features include landing pages, a delivery calculator built into the product page, and our favourite – a smart multi-column menu with filtering, brand logos and promotional features.

Immediately we’re drawn in by the full page carousel slider of on the Olympus Magento website. This online store also features a multi-column menu along with merchandising blocks. At a category level, customers can get a quick overview of the various colour options for each product.

Athlete’s Foot site demonstrates an innovative featured products block, along with a brands slider to quickly find your favourite brand, a nifty custom product image slider and a blog integration.

The first feature you’ll notice about Ben Sherman’s global site is a customer GEOIP pop up to help direct you to your regional online store. This is a great feature if you’re using Magento’s multi-store features. Ben Sherman makes great use of Magento’s native catalog filtering options to make it easy for their customers to find the right size, colour, and fit. Keep scrolling down to experience their auto-scroll feature on the category pages.

Lindt provide an immersive brand experience with their evocative rich chocolate imagery. We love the Composez Votre Coffret de Chocolat (or for the non Francophiles amongst us “Make Your Own Chocolate Box”). This customised process of allowing the customer to select the chocolates they wish to include in their box is a great example of the flexibility and extendibility of the Magento platform.

Kathmandu’s slick multi store, Magento Enterprise website not only looks great, but has also been customised to bring through some of their key offline promotional tools such as their “Summit” club membership program. Members of the club can get access to discounted prices both online and offline simply by entering their club card number. Nice!  We also love the easy to use Store Locator page.

Bike Barn’s bold custom Magento theme captures the feeling of being out on your bike! Bike Barn features all custom product sliders, image carousels, and landing pages to really showcase the Bike Barn product range. Also makes great use of Magento’s native filtering features to help customers find what they’re looking for.

Nespresso’s customised Magento site simplifies the whole purchase process by allowing the customer to easily pick and choose the Nespresso capsules they want, all from the home page!

The first thing you notice on Harper’s Bazaar Magento store is the full width sliding carousel, which really captures the feeling of their physical magazine. The crisp, layout of the site features nice custom advanced filtering options, great use of Magento’s category banner options, and a well crafted Designers directory which enables users to browse products from their favourite designers.

Jeanswest features a great “Quick Buy” option from the category pages which opens the product details in a pop up window. This allows their customers to review the product in more detail, and even add to cart without having to leave the category page. Perfect for those customers who are “just browsing, thanks”.

The Men’s Health Magento shop ties nicely with the physical magazine, promoting the same products currently featured in the magazine immediately when the customer arrives on the site.  Easy to use categorisation and Top Sellers/Related Product blocks make it easy to find what you’re looking for, or stumble across something you didn’t know you needed.

The great visuals in Bivouac Outdoors’ Magento Enterprise site immediately capture the feeling of being out in the wilderness. The site features innovative customisations including tabbed category pages making it even easier for customers find new arrivals and clearance products. The product page visually displays the product attribute options, for selection of colour and sizes. The Magento store is seamless integrated with a WordPress blog for enhanced SEO.

DC Shoes is a great example of a stunning, purpose built Magento theme, really capturing the essence of this skate brand. It shows when you build on Magento, you don’t have to be restricted in terms of how your brand is presented online.  Other innovative features include the swatch option hover on the category pages, so you can quickly see which colours are available for each product. Use of a One Step Checkout simplifies the checkout process for the default 5 steps to one easy page, making it easier to checkout and reducing cart abandonment.

The Breville USA Magento site demonstrates innovative use of a multi-column menu by visually showing the type of product sold in that category.  We love features like this that make us think less!  The choice to display the products in their category using Magento’s List View option is a nice change and makes browsing the catalog less cluttered with a focus on the appliance imagery.
